- Free, no obligationYou choose who to book
These terms apply to removal companies ("you", "the Company") that join the CompareMover network. They are provided by [company name], trading as CompareMover ("we", "us"), and apply together with our general terms of use.
1. Joining
- We may accept or refuse any application, and may suspend or remove a Company at any time.
- You must give accurate details, including your legal name, company registration number (or, for sole traders, proof of identity and address), how long you have been trading, address, phone number, email address, areas covered and services, and keep them up to date.
- You must hold, and show us on request, current goods in transit and public liability insurance, and tell us at once if cover lapses or changes.
- You confirm you are legally able to trade and will follow all laws that apply to your business, including consumer, data protection and waste carrier rules where they apply.
2. Customer requests
- We pass you requests from customers who have chosen to receive a quote from you. Each request goes to a maximum of 5 removal companies.
- You must contact the customer promptly and give an honest, accurate quote.
- We do not guarantee the number, quality, accuracy or value of requests, or that any request will lead to a booking.
- You may use the customer's details only to respond to their request. You must not sell them, pass them on or use them for unrelated marketing. You are an independent controller of the data you receive and must comply with data protection law, including the UK GDPR.
3. Fees
- Joining is free. Once your application is approved, the first 10 requests we send you are free of charge (one free allowance per business).
- After the free requests, you pay the fee for each request at the price we agree with you in writing before any charge is made. Fees do not buy a booking.
- We may offer a credit for a request that is clearly invalid, such as a false or duplicate request, if you report it within 14 days and show that you tried to contact the customer. Our decision on credits is final.
- Invoices are payable within the time shown on the invoice. We may suspend your account for late payment.
- We may change fees with 14 days' notice.
4. Your conduct
- You must treat customers fairly and give honest information about prices, insurance and services.
- You must not offer or ask for fake reviews, or try to change or hide reviews.
- Repeated complaints, false information or poor service may lead to removal from the network.
- You must tell us promptly about any complaint, claim or investigation involving a customer we introduced.
5. Independent contractor
You are an independent business. Nothing here makes you our employee, agent, partner or joint venture. You are solely responsible for the removals you carry out and for all contracts, prices, insurance, staff and claims.
6. Indemnity
You will compensate us for any loss, claim, cost or liability we suffer because of your services, your breach of these terms, or your breach of the law, to the extent the law allows.
7. Our liability
Nothing excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything that cannot be excluded by law. Otherwise we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss or loss of profit or business, and our total liability to you in any 12 months is limited to the fees you paid us in that period.
8. Ending
You can leave at any time by telling us in writing. We can suspend or end your membership at once if you breach these terms or if we reasonably believe customers are at risk. You must pay fees due up to the date it ends.
9. General
We may update these terms with notice. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and its courts have jurisdiction. Questions: see our contact page or join our network.
