How we protect you
1. Every mover is checked
Before a removal company or man and van can receive your request, we check:
- It is a real, registered business. Limited companies are checked on Companies House and must be active. Sole traders show proof of identity and address.
- It is insured. We see a current goods in transit certificate and public liability cover.
- Its experience and reputation. How long it has been trading, and what its customers say.
Removal companies that receive complaints or poor reviews are reviewed, and companies that fall short are removed. Read how we check companies.
2. Your details are safe
- Encrypted. Everything you send us travels over a secure, encrypted (HTTPS) connection.
- Shared only for your move. Your request goes to a maximum of 5 vetted removal companies that cover your move. Removal companies may only use your details to quote for this move.
- Never sold to marketing lists. We do not pass your details to anyone else.
- Not kept for ever. We delete requests after 24 months, as our privacy notice explains.
- Your rights. You can ask to see or delete your data at any time through our contact page.
3. Free, with no obligation
Comparing quotes on CompareMover is free. You do not have to book any of the companies that quote, and you never pay us anything. The companies pay us for the introduction, which does not change the price they quote you.
4. Help if something goes wrong
If you have a problem with a company, contact the company first, in writing. If it is not sorted out, tell us. We acknowledge complaints within 2 working days, follow them up with the company, and remove companies that do not meet our standards.
